Dave Pearce, Ashridge

In March 2011 our excellent safety record was rewarded again when we were presented for the fifth consecutive year with the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Medal Award, the Gold Medal is presented to companies who achieve 5 consecutive Gold Achievement Awards.  This award which is in fact the 9th consecutive Gold Achievement Award for Ashridge recognises our robust Health and Safety  Management System and maintaining an Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) lower than the national average.

In April 2011 Ashridge won The British Safety Council's International Safety Award for the ninth consecutive year. This award is presented to companies who demonstrate significant achievements in health & safety as well as excellent accident statistics. Indeed, we have just celebrated a 4th consecutive year of ZERO accidents.

We are extremely proud that 98% of our employees have passed the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Health & Safety Test and have been accredited with the relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

All plant operators within the Company hold a Construction Plant Certification Scheme (CPCS) card and log book.  This fulfils the Major Contractors Group (MCG) initiative of having a fully qualified and competent workforce.

A number of our Supervisors & Managers have also successfully passed the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) which has also contributed to the overall safety on all our construction sites.
