| Ashridge return to the multi-million pound 76-bedroom Travelodge hotel development in Chichester town centre for the external works contract with Willmott Dixon. The hotel has been constructed above and behind a Post Office which is unaffected by it with further retailing on the ground floor. A building immediately behind the Post Office was demolished to make way for the hotel, and guests will use a nearby underground car park. Work on the initial contract for Ashridge was for groundworks and drainage and involved breaking down piles, casting pile caps and a reinforced ground floor slab with bolts cast in to take the steel frame for this new budget hotel. In addition, foul and storm drainage as well as other ducting was laid under the slab ready for Ashridge to return to complete the external works which are now underway. Peter Jones, Managing Director commented, "To be working with Willmott Dixon on this multi-million pound contract is further proof of the quality, strength and resilience of the team at Ashridge." |
